How to transfer recordings from your Howler to an iPhone.

How to transfer to an iPhone

  1. Turn on Howler with the power button.
  2. Set Howler to stream/transfer mode using the mode switch.
  3. Connect Howler to the iPhone with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
  4. Your iPhone will identify Howler as a USB drive but it won’t notify you of this connection.
  5. To view the recordings on the microSD card, open the Files app.
  6. In the Browse tab navigate to the location named HOWLER
  7. In this location, navigate to the folder Howler recordings and find the file you want to transfer to your iPhone.
  8. Long press the file you want to copy, this opens a popup menu. Tap Copy at the top of the popup menu.
  9. Navigate back to the Browse home screen.
  10. Tap On My iPhone and navigate to the folder you want to place your files in.
  11. Long press anywhere in the folder to open a popup menu. Tap Paste and the file will be transferred.
    • The time it takes to transfer the recording will depend on the file size. The longer a recording is, the larger the file will be. WAV files are also much larger than MP3 files.
  12. You’re done! You can now share your music with the world using the platform of your choice.

How to transfer with a Lightning dongle

  1. Turn on Howler with the power button.
  2. Set Howler to stream/transfer mode using the mode switch.
  3. Connect Howler to the Lightning dongle with with a USB-C to USB-A cable.
  4. Insert the Lightning dongle into the iPhone.
  5. Your iPhone will identify Howler as a USB drive but it won’t notify you of this connection.
  6. To view the recordings on the microSD card, open the Files app.
  7. In the Browse tab navigate to the location named HOWLER
  8. In this location, navigate to the folder Howler recordings and find the file you want to transfer to your iPhone.
