How to transfer recordings from your Howler to an iPhone.
How to transfer to an iPhone
- Turn on Howler with the power button.
- Set Howler to stream/transfer mode using the mode switch.
- Connect Howler to the iPhone with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
- Your iPhone will identify Howler as a USB drive but it won’t notify you of this connection.
- To view the recordings on the microSD card, open the Files app.
- In the Browse tab navigate to the location named HOWLER.
- In this location, navigate to the folder Howler recordings and find the file you want to transfer to your iPhone.
- Long press the file you want to copy, this opens a popup menu. Tap Copy at the top of the popup menu.
- Navigate back to the Browse home screen.
- Tap On My iPhone and navigate to the folder you want to place your files in.
- Long press anywhere in the folder to open a popup menu. Tap Paste and the file will be transferred.
- The time it takes to transfer the recording will depend on the file size. The longer a recording is, the larger the file will be. WAV files are also much larger than MP3 files.
- You’re done! You can now share your music with the world using the platform of your choice.
Transferring with a Lightning dongle

How to transfer with a Lightning dongle

- Connect Howler to the Lightning dongle with with a USB-C to USB-A cable.
- Insert the Lightning dongle into the iPhone.
- Your iPhone will identify Howler as a USB drive but it won’t notify you of this connection.
- To view the recordings on the microSD card, open the Files app.
- In the Browse tab navigate to the location named HOWLER.
- In this location, navigate to the folder Howler recordings and find the file you want to transfer to your iPhone.
