Transferring to Android
How to transfer recordings from your Howler to an Android phone.

How to transfer to an Android phone
- Turn on Howler with the power button.
- Set Howler to stream/transfer mode using the mode switch.
- Connect Howler to the Android phone with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
- Android will identify Howler as a USB drive and show a notification of the new connection in the notification drawer.
- Open the navigation drawer, expand the notification by pressing the
icon and tap Explore. This will open the storage on the microSD card in the Howler.
- Navigate to the folder Howler recordings and find the file you want to transfer to your Android phone.
- Tap the
icon to open the popup menu and select either Copy to or Move to.
- Tap Internal storage in the card overlaid on the bottom of the screen.
- Navigate to the folder you want to place your files in.
- Tap Copy here or Move here and the file will be transferred.
- The time it takes to transfer the recording will depend on the file size. The longer a recording is, the larger the file will be. WAV files are also much larger than MP3 files.
- After the transfer is complete you can eject Howler:
- Drag down from the top of the screen to open the navigation drawer.
- Expand the Howler notification by tapping the arrow-icon.
- Tap Eject to disconnect Howler. You can now safely remove the USB-C cable.
- You’re done! You can now share your music with the world using the platform of your choice.
Transferring with a USB-C dongle

How to transfer with a USB-C dongle
- Turn on Howler with the power button.
- Set Howler to stream/transfer mode using the mode switch.
- Connect Howler to the dongle with with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
- Insert the dongle into the Android phone.
- Android will identify Howler as a USB drive and show a notification of the new connection in the notification drawer.
- Open the navigation drawer, expand the notification by pressing the
icon and tap Explore. This will open the storage on the microSD card in the Howler.
- Navigate to the folder Howler recordings and find the file you want to transfer to your Android phone.
- Tap the
icon to open the popup menu and select either Copy to or Move to.
